Repentance

1,2) An ultimatum, a decisive warning from Allah and His Messenger to those who associate others with Allah, with whom you had made a covenant: "Travel freely through the earth for four months more. And know that you will definitely not incapacitate Allah and indeed, Allah is the One Who disgraces the infidels; those who consciously deny His divinity and the fact that He is Rabb".
3,4) And an announcement to the people from Allah and His Messenger on the day of " the greatest hajj [pilgrimage]"[#404] that Allah and His Messenger are disassociated from those who associate others with Allah, except for those who did not do any deficient to you and those who did not help one another against you of those with whom you have made covenant from those who associate others with Allah: "So, if you repent, it is good for you. And if you turn away, indeed know that you can not incapacitate Allah". And give the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb the tidings of a painful punishment! Then, fulfill your promises to them until their term. Indeed, Allah likes those who have entered under the guardianship of Himself.
5) And when untouchable months/months of hajj [pilgrimage] have passed, kill those who associate others with Allah wherever you find them, seize them, besiege them and sit for them at every observation point. But if they should repent, establish Salah [establish and maintain the institutions that support financially and spiritually; enlighten the community] and give zaqah; the tax that the believers sincerely give as a liability of belief and duty of servitude so that the religion of Allah may be spread, maintained and Salah may be established, then let their ways free. Surely, Allah is the One Who removes the sins of His servants, does not punish them and has much forgiveness, the One Who is the possessor of vast mercy.
6) If anyone of those who associate others with Allah seeks for protection, grant him protection so he may listen to the words of Allah. Then deliver him to his place of safety. This is because they are indeed a people who do not know.
7) How can there be a covenant in the sight of Allah and in the sight of His Messenger for those who associate others with Allah except for those with whom you made a covenant near Masjid al-Haram? As long as they are upright to you, then you become upright to them. Indeed, Allah likes those who have entered under the guardianship of Himself.
8,9,10) How can it be? And if they prevail over you, they do not observe an oath and a covenant concerning you. They try to satisfy you with their mouths but their hearts refuse. And most of them are the ones who have gone astray from the righteous path: they have sold the Ayat of Allah for a price and averted from the path of Allah. Indeed, they are the ones whose deeds were evil. They do not consider an oath and a covenant concerning any believer. And these are the ones who are the transgressors.
11) If they repent after this, establish Salah [establish and maintain the institutions that support financially and spiritually; enlighten the community] and give zaqah; the tax that the believers sincerely give as a liability of belief and duty of servitude so that the religion of Allah may be spread, maintained and Salah may be established, then they are your brothers in religion. And We explain the Ayat in detail for a people who know.
12) And if they break their oaths after the promise they have given and defame your religion, fight the leaders of those who disbelieve; consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb right away so they may cease. Indeed, there are no covenants for them.
13) Will you not fight against a people who broke their oaths, determined to expel the Messenger from his land and began to fight you first time? Or do you fear them in awe with respect, love, knowledge? If you are believers, Allah is the One Who is more worthy for you to fear in awe with respect, love, knowledge.
14,15) Battle them so Allah may punish them through your hands and disgrace them. And He may make you victorious over them and heal the hearts of a believing people, remove the hatred of their hearts. Allah accepts the repentance of whom He wills. And Allah is the One Who knows very well, the One Who is the best law maker, the One Who precludes corruption best/makes incorruptible.
16) Do you think that you will be left before Allah declares/marks and shows those among you who strive, who do not take intimates from among those that are inferior to the Messenger of Allah and the believers? And Allah is the One Who is all aware of what you do.
17) While those who associate others with Allah witness their own disbelief; their conscious denial of the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb, it is out of the question that they build and maintain the masjid [school] of Allah. They are the ones whose deeds have become worthless. And they will abide in the Fire eternally.
18) Only those who believe in Allah and the day of Akhirat [Afterlife], establish Salah [establish and maintain the institutions that support financially and spiritually; enlighten the community], give zaqah; the tax that the believers sincerely give as a liability of belief and duty of servitude so that the religion of Allah may be spread, maintained and Salah may be established and fear Allah in awe with respect, love, knowledge build and maintain the masjid [school] of Allah. And it is expected that they will be of those who follow the righteous path they are guided.
19) Do you make the providing of water for the one who fulfills hajj [pilgrimage] and build Masjid al-Haram like the one who believes in Allah and the day of Akhirat [Afterlife] and strives in the path of Allah? They can not be equal in the sight of Allah. And Allah does not guide a people who do wrong; act against their own good by associating others with Himself, by disbelieving.
28) O you who have believed! These who associate others with Allah are indeed unclean. Let them not come close to Masjid al-Haram after this year. If you fear poverty/that you will lose income because they will go away, Allah will soon enrich you with bounties when He wills. Surely, Allah is the One Who knows best, the One Who is the best law maker.
29) Fight those among the ones who were given the Book who disbelieve in Allah and the day of Akhirat [Afterlife], who do not make haram/forbidden that which Allah and His Messenger have made haram/forbidden and do not take the true religion as their religion, as they are humiliated until they give jizyah/security tax in advance, cash, right away; by himself (without using a representative) or "those who are able to; who have capability" give it.
31) They have taken their scholars, priests and Jesus, son of Mary who are from among those that are inferior to Allah as their Rabb. Yet they were commanded to worship only the one god. There is no deity except Allah. Purified is He from that which those who associate others with Allah associate with Him.
32) They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths. Yet, Allah only insists on perfecting His light although the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb dislike it.
20) Those who believe, emigrate and strive in the path of Allah with their wealth and lives are greater in degree in the sight of Allah. These are the ones who are the successful.
21,22) Their Rabb gives them the good tidings of the gardens of Jannah [Heaven/Paradise] that belong to them, which have endless blessings, into which He will admit them to abide therein eternally. Indeed, Allah is the One Who has great reward with Him.[#405]
23) O you who have believed! If your fathers and brothers prefer disbelief; conscious denial of the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb over belief, do not take them as familiars who are helpers, guides, protectors. And whoever among you takes them as his familiar who is helper, guide and protector, then they are the ones who do wrong; act against their own good.
25) Surely, Allah helped you at many places and on the day of Hunayn[#406]. When your number gave you confidence but it did not avail you at all and the earth was confining for you despite its vastness. Then you turned back and fled.
26) Then Allah cast upon His Messenger and upon the believers the feelings of trust and tranquility/morale which pacify the heart within themselves and descended armies which you did not see. And He punished the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb. And this is the recompense of the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb.
27) Then, after all this that has happened, Allah will ordain return to whomever He wills. And Allah is very forgiving, the One Who shows great mercy.
30) And the Jews said: "Uzair [Ezra] is son of Allah". And the Christians said: "Messiah is son of Allah". These are the words from their mouths and with this, they imitate the saying of the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb who had lived before. Allah fought them. How are they deluded!
33) Allah is the One Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance to the righteous path and the true religion to manifest the True Religion over all false religions although those who associate others with Allah dislike.
34) O you who have believed! Surely, many of the rabbis/scholars and priests consume the wealth of the people unjustly and avert them from the path of Allah. And as for those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend them for the cause of Allah/provide sustenance first for their relatives and then others, give them the tidings of a painful punishment immediately!
35) On that day, gold and silver that they have been hoarding will be heated in the fire of Jahannah [Hell] and their foreheads, flanks and backs will be seared with them: "This is that which you have hoarded for yourselves. Now taste that which you have been hoarding!".
24) Say: "If your fathers, sons, brothers, spouses, relatives, your people, wealth which you have obtained, business which you fear decline, residences you like are more beloved to you than Allah, His Messenger and striving in His path, then wait until Allah executes His command. And Allah does not guide a people who have gone astray from the righteous path.
36) Indeed, number of the months is twelve as months with Allah; in the decree of Allah on the day that He formed the heavens/universe and the earth. Four of these have been made untouchable. This is the religion that protects. Therefore, do not treat yourselves unjustly during the untouchable months. And fight those who associate others with Allah collectively as they fight you collectively. And know that Allah is absolutely with those who have entered under the guardianship of Himself.
37) The "Nesi"[#407] is only an increase in disbelief; conscious denial of the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb that with it the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb are led astray; they consider it halal/permissible one year and haram/forbidden another year so they may match the number that Allah has made haram/forbidden and then they may make halal/permissible what Allah made haram/forbidden. Evil of their deeds was made pleasing to them. And Allah does not guide people of infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb.
38) O you who have believed! What is the matter with you that you cling heavily to the ground/stuck at where you are when you are told to set out to fight for the cause of Allah? Are you satisfied with simple worldly life rather than Akhirat [Afterlife]? But the enjoyment of the simple worldly life is rather less than of Akhirat [Afterlife].
39) If you do not go for fighting, Allah will punish you with a painful punishment and replace you with another people and you can not harm Him at all. And Allah is the One Who is the most competent over everything.
40) If you do not help the Messenger, know that Allah has indeed helped him. When those infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb drove him out as the second of the two. When they both were in the cave. When the messenger said to his companion: "Do not grieve, indeed Allah is with us". Then Allah sent down upon him the feelings of trust and tranquility which pacify the heart/increased their morale, reinforced him with soldiers which you did not see and made the word of the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb the lowest. And the word of Allah is what is the highest. And Allah is the One Who is the most exalted, the most powerful, the most honorable, the invincible/the subduer, the best law maker, the One Who precludes corruption best/makes incorruptible.
41) Set out to battle with light equipment and heavy equipment and strive for the cause of Allah with your wealth and lives. If you know, this is better for you.
42) If the campaign had been a close booty and a simple campaign, they would definitely have followed you. But that which was hard to do was distant to them. And they will swear by Allah, "If we had been able to, we would certainly have set out with you" -they destroy themselves- And Allah knows that indeed they are liars.
43) Allah has forgiven you. Why did you give them permission until it was evident to you who were truthful and you knew the liars?
44) Those who believe in Allah and the day of Akhirat [Afterlife] do not ask you permission to strive with their wealth and lives. And Allah is the One Who knows best those who have entered under the guardianship of Himself.
45) Those who ask you permission are the ones who do not believe in Allah and the day of Akhirat [Afterlife] and whose hearts are in doubt so they waver in their doubt.
46) Had they intended to set out, they would certainly have made some preparations. Yet Allah did not like that they were sent and He kept them back. -And it was said: "Sit with those who sit!".-
47) Had they set out within you, they would have increased only corruption and they would have hastened to cause a social fire among you. And among you were those who were to heed them. And Allah is the One Who knows very well those who do wrong; act against their own good.
48) Indeed, they desired to avert people from their religion before as well and setup matters for you. Then the truth came and the command of Allah came out while they did not want it.
49) Some among them say: "Permit me, do not make me fall in social fire/do not put me to trial!". Open your eyes! They have fallen into social fire. And Jahannah [Hell] will encompass the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb.
50) If a good touches you, it distresses them. If a disaster touches you, they say: "We have certainly taken precautions before". And they turn away and leave as the ones who rejoice.
51) Say: "Never will touch us other than that which Allah has decreed for us. He is our protector. Therefore, let the believers rely only on Allah".
52) Say: "Do you expect for us other than one of the two good things? We, on the other hand, await that Allah will send a punishment from Himself or through our hands. Now observe, indeed we are observing along with you".
53) Say: "Spend for the cause of Allah willingly or unwillingly; it will never be accepted from you. Surely, you have become a people of those who have gone astray from the righteous path".
54) And it was only their disbelief; their conscious denial of the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb, their consious denial of that His Messenger was true messenger, their reluctance to Salah [supporting financially and spiritually; enlightening the community], and unwillingly spending for the cause of Allah that prevented their expenditures from being accepted.
55) Therefore, do not let their wealth and children make you envy. Yet Allah intends to punish them in the simple worldly life with these and take their lives while they are infidels; people who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb.
56) And they swear by Allah that they are from among you while they are not from among you. But they are a people who fear.
57) Had they managed to find a place to hide or caverns to settle or a cove to shelter, they would certainly have headed towards there with their heads high in the air.
58) And some among them are those who criticize you about the sadaqa/public revenue. Yet, if they are given from those sadaqa/public revenue they become pleased, if they are not given they become angry right away.
59) If only they had been satisfied with what Allah and His Messenger gave them. And if only they had said, "Allah is sufficient for us. Allah will soon give us bounties and so will His Messenger. Surely, we are those who turn only to Allah".
60) Truly, as an allocation/an obligation from Allah, the sadaqa/public revenues are only for the poor, the needy/the unemployed, the officials who work for that matter/public servants, those whose hearts to be encouraged to Islam, unfree slaves, those in heavy debt, those in the path of Allah [soldiers, students and teachers] and the stranded travelers. Allah is the One Who knows all best, the One Who is the best law maker.
61) And some among them are those who hurt the Prophet and say: "He is a person who listens and approves everything he is told!". Say: "He is an ear for good of you; he believes in Allah, he believes in the believers and he is a mercy upon those who believe among you". And those who hurt the Messenger of Allah, they are the ones for whom will be a painful punishment.
62) They swear by Allah for you to please you. If they are believers, it is more appropriate for them to please Allah and His Messenger.
63) Surely, as for whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger, do they not know that the fire of Jahannah [Hell] will be for him as the one who will abide therein eternally? This is the greatest disgrace.
64) The hypocrites are apprehensive that an independent division that will inform them about that which is within their hearts would be sent down upon them. Say: "Mock! Surely Allah is the One Who brings forth that which you fear.
65) And if you asked them, they would certainly say, "We were only distracted, playing a game". Say: "Is it Allah, His Ayat and His Messenger that you were mocking?".
66) Do not make excuse, you have certainly disbelieved, consciously denied the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb after having said: "We have believed". Even if We pardon some among you, We will definitely punish other group for they are sinners.
67) The hypocrite men and the hypocrite women are from each other; they command the evil, avert from the good and they withhold their hands/are stingy. They abandon Allah so Allah abandons them. Truly, the hypocrites are the ones who have gone astray from the righteous path.
68) Allah has promised to the hypocrite men and the hypocrite women and the infidels; those who consciously deny/disbelieve in His divinity and the fact that He is Rabb the fire of Jahannah [Hell] as the ones who will abide therein eternally. It is sufficient for them. And Allah has cursed them, deprived them of His mercy! And for them will be a persistent punishment.
69) You are like those before you who were stronger than you in power, more abundant than you in wealth and children and who enjoyed their share. So, you wished to enjoy your share as those before you had enjoyed their share. You have engaged like those who had engaged. Their deeds have been wasted in the world and in Akhirat [Afterlife] and those are the ones who lose and suffer.
70) Has the news of those before them; the people of Noah, Ad, Thamud, the people of Abraham, the companions of Midian and overturned cities not come to them? Their messengers came to them with clear proofs. And then it was not Allah Who treated them unjustly. But they treated themselves unjustly by associating others with Allah.
71) The believing men and the believing women; some of them are familiars who are protectors, guides of some others. They command the good which is accepted by everyone, forbid all that is evil, establish Salah [establish and maintain the institutions that support financially and spiritually; enlighten the community], give zaqah; the tax that the believers sincerely give as a liability of belief and duty of servitude so that the religion of Allah may be spread, maintained and Salah may be established, obey Allah and His Messenger. Those, Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is the One Who is the most exalted, the most powerful, the most honorable, the invincible/the subduer, the best law maker, the One Who precludes corruption best/makes incorruptible.
72) Allah has promised to the believing men and the believing women the gardens of Jannah [Heaven/Paradise], underneath of which rivers flow as the ones who will abide therein eternally and pleasant dwellings in the gardens of Eden. But approval of Allah is greater. This is what is the great salvation.
73) O Prophet! Strive against the deniers and the hypocrites. And be harsh upon them. And their refuge will be Jahannah [Hell]. And how an evil final destination it is!
74) They swear by Allah that they did not say. Yet, they surely said the word of disbelief; denial the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb. And, after being Islamized [create well-being, peace, order, happiness...], they have become infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb. And they desired so much for that which they could not reach and have. They were resentful only for that Allah and His Messenger enriched the believers of the bounties of Allah. If they return from their mistakes, it will be good for them. If they turn away, Allah will punish them in this world and in Akhirat [Afterlife] with a painful punishment. And there will be no familiar who is protector, guide nor a good helper for them on the earth.
75) And some of them promised to Allah, saying: "Should Allah give us from His bounty, we will surely give charity and be among the righteous".
76) And when Allah gave them from His bounty, they were stingy with it and turned away while they kept away.
77) And finally, Allah punished them by placing within their hearts the hypocrisy that will remain until the day they will meet Him for they failed in that which they promised to Allah and lied.
78,79) Surely, do they; those who criticize those among the believers who contribute voluntarily from sadaqa/public revenue and are unable to find except their efforts and then ridicule them, not know that Allah definitely knows their secrets and whispers and that Allah surely is the One Who knows very well all that is unknown? Allah will ridicule them. And there will be a painful punishment for them.
80) Whether you ask forgiveness for them or not. Even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times, Allah will not forgive them. This is because they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger. Allah does not guide a people who have gone astray from the righteous path.
81) Those who remained behind/who did not participate the war rejoiced over their staying as opponents of the Messenger of Allah and disliked to strive in the path of Allah with their wealth, lives and also said: "Do not set out for war under such heat". Say: "The fire of Jahannah [Hell] is hotter". If only they could comprehend well.
82) And let them laugh a little and weep much as the recompense of the sin they earned.
83) Should Allah return you to a group of them and they ask you permission to set out, say: "You will never set out with me anymore. And you will never fight the enemy with me. Surely, you liked to sit and remain at the first time. Now sit with those who stay behind!".
84) And do not support anyone who has died from among them, do not stand over his grave. Surely, they are infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb and that His Messenger is the true messenger. And they have died as they have gone astray from the righteous path.
85) And do not let their wealth and children impress you. Allah only intends to punish them in the world with these and that their souls should depart hard while they are infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb.
86,87) And when an independent division was revealed: "Believe in Allah and strive with His Messenger", those of wealth [property, wealth, children] among them asked you your permission and said: "Leave us to be with those who sit". And they chose to be with those who stay behind. And their hearts were sealed. So, they do not reason, understand.
88) But the Messenger and those who believed, who were with him have striven with their wealth and lives. And they are the ones for whom all the good will be. And it is those whose condition does not decline and who will succeed.
89) Allah has prepared for them gardens of Jannah [Heaven/Paradise] underneath of which rivers flow as the ones who will abide therein eternally. This is that great salvation.
90) Those who made their excuses among Bedouin Arabs came to be permitted. And those who had lied to Allah and His Messenger sat. A painful punishment will soon touch those from among them who are the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb.
91,92) There is no blame upon the weak, the ill and those who can not find anything to spend and also those who turned back and went while their eyes overturned with tears out of grief for they could not find anything to spend in the path of Allah when they came to you so you might give them ride and you said, "I can not find anything for you to ride upon", while they are sincere for Allah and His Messenger. There is not a way against those who do good deeds. Allah is the One Who forgives much, shows great mercy.
93) The cause is only against those who ask you permission although they are rich. They preferred to be with those who stay behind. And Allah sealed upon their hearts. So, they do not know.
94) When you have returned to them, they will make excuses to you. Say: "Do not make excuses. We will never believe you. Allah has given us important news of your news". Allah and His Messenger will observe your deeds after this. And then you will be returned to Allah Who knows the unseen and the seen. Then He will inform you about what you did.
95) When you return to them, they will swear by Allah so you may keep your distance from them. So keep your distance from them right away. Indeed, they are impure, have been evil. And their final destination will be Jahannah [Hell] as recompense of what they earned.
96) They swear to you so you may be pleased with them. But if you should be pleased with them, know that Allah will not be pleased with those people who have gone astray from the righteous path.
97) Bedouin Arabs are stronger in disbelieving the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb and hypocrisy; are more likely not to know/not to learn the limits of what Allah has revealed to His Messenger. Allah is the One Who knows best, the One Who is the best law maker.
98) And among the Bedouin Arabs are some who consider what they spend for the good of public is a forcibly paid debt and await for a trouble to come to you. -Upon them may be that evil trouble!- And Allah is the One Who hears best, knows best.
99) And among the Bedouin Arabs are some who believe in Allah and the day of Akhirat [Afterlife] and consider what they spend as closenesses with Allah and supports of the Messenger. Open your eyes! Indeed, this is a closeness for them. Allah will soon admit them into His mercy. Indeed, Allah is the One Who removes the sins of His servants, does not punish them and has much forgiveness, the One Who is the possessor of vast mercy.
100) And the forerunners among the Muhajirun [Emigrants] and Ansar and those who followed them in doing good deeds; Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. And Allah has prepared for them the gardens of Jannah [Heaven/Paradise], underneath of which rivers flow, to abide therein eternally. This is a great salvation.
101) And among those around you of the Bedouin Arabs who are hypocrites. And among the people of Medina are those who have become accustomed to hypocrisy. You do not know them. We know them. We will punish them twice then they will be returned to a great punishment.
102) And others have confessed their sins too. And they have mixed a righteous deed with another which was evil. Perhaps, Allah may accept their repentances. Indeed, Allah is the One Who removes the sins of His servants, does not punish them and has much forgiveness, the One Who is the possessor of vast mercy.
103) Take sadaqa/public revenue from their wealth so you may purify them by sadaqa/public revenue. And support them. Surely, your support is reassurance for them. Allah is the One Who hears best, knows best.
104) Do they not know that Allah accepts repentances of His servants, takes sadaqa and that Allah is the One Who accepts repentances most, gives many opportunities to repent, shows great mercy?
105) And say: "Do whatever you can! Then, Allah, His Messenger and the believers will observe your deeds. And you will be returned to Allah Who knows the unseen and the seen. Then He will inform you about what you did".
106) And the others, they are the ones who are left to the command of Allah. He will either punish them or accept their repentances. And Allah is the One Who knows best, the One Who is the best law maker.
107) And those who build masjids [school] to harm, disbelieve; consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb, cause division among the believers and watch out for those who waged war against Allah and His Messenger before; strove to corrupt swear: "We did not intend other than the best". And Allah testifies that they are certainly liars.
108) Do not stand/serve within that masjid [school] ever! And the masjid [school] that is founded on entering under the guardianship of Allah in its first day is more suitable for you to serve within. Within it are men who like to purify themselves. And Allah likes those who purify themselves.
109) So, is the one who has laid the foundation on entering under the guardianship of Allah and approval better or the one who has laid the foundation on the edge of a abyss about to collapse and then roll down into Jahannah [Hell] with it? And Allah does not guide a people who do wrong; act against their own good by associating others with Himself, by disbelieving.
110) Unless their hearts are shattered, the foundation they have laid will remain as a doubt in their hearts and will not perish. And Allah is the One Who knows best, the One Who is the best law maker.
111,112) Surely, Allah has purchased from those believers who repent, worship, praise, travel, acknowledge the oneness of Allah, submit, command the good that is accepted by all, forbid the evil deeds, preserve the limits of Allah their lives and wealth for that they will have Jannah [Heaven/Paradise]. They battle in the cause of Allah; then they kill and are killed. This is the true promise of Allah that is in the Torah, the Bible and the Qur'an. And who is the one who is more faithful to his promise more than Allah? Then, rejoice over the business you did. And this is what the great salvation is. And give to the believers the good tidings!
113,114) It is not for the Prophet and for those who have believed to ask forgiveness for those who associate others with Allah after it has become clear to them that they are the companions of Jahannah [Hell], even if they are relatives. And asking of forgiveness of Abraham for his father was because of a promise he had given to him. And when it became clear to him that he was an enemy to Allah, he disassociated himself from him. Indeed, Abraham was compassionate and patient.
115) And Allah does not lead a people astray after He has guided them to the righteous path until He makes clear to them that which would make them enter under the guardianship of Himself. Surely, Allah is the One Who knows all best.
116) No doubt that Allah is the One only to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens/universe and the earth. He gives life and takes life. There is no familiar who is a guide, protector nor a helper from among those that are inferior to Him for you.
117) Surely, Allah has bestowed repentance upon Prophet and the Muhajirun [Emigrants] and Ansar, who followed him in the hour of difficulty, when the hearts of some among them almost inclined. Then He accepted their repentances. Indeed, He is very compassionate, very merciful to them.
118) And He also accepted the repentances of the three people who were left behind. Insomuch, as the earth seemed cramped to them despite its great width, and their selves put them in distress. And they firmly believed in that the only way to save oneself from Allah is to seek refuge in Him. Then Allah bestowed upon them repentance so they might return and then accepted their repentances. Indeed, Allah is the One Who accepts repentances most, gives many opportunities to repent, the One Who is very merciful.
119) O you who have believed! Enter under the guardianship of Allah and be with those who are truthful.
120,121) It is not for the people of Medina and those around of the Bedouin Arabs to remain behind the Messenger of Allah and prefer their lives over his life. And that is because every without water staying, every fatigue and every hunger that may hit in the path of Allah will enrage the infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb, for every place they set foot on and every victory they gain against the enemy, there is a righteous deed registered for them, for every expenditure, small or large, that they spend for the cause of Allah and every valley they pass, it is decreed that Allah will reward them with what is better than what they did. Indeed, Allah will not let the rewards of those who produce good get lost.
122) It was not proper for the believers, as a precaution, to set out/leave all together. Therefore, a group from every division of them should have not left so that they might gain deep knowledge in the religion and warn their people when they return to them.
123) O you who have believed! Fight those who pose danger of the deniers and let them find harshness in you. And surely, know that Allah is with those who have entered under the guardianship of Himself.
124) And when an independent division is revealed, a man from among them says: "Which of you has that independent division that has been revealed strengthened in faith?" But as for those who have believed; that independent division that has been revealed has increased them in faith; strengthened them and they are continuously given good tidings.
125) And as for those in whose hearts is disease; ill-minded; it has only increased them in evil. And they have died while they were infidels; those who consciously deny the divinity of Allah and the fact that He is Rabb.

128) Surely, there has certainly come to you a messenger from among you who grieves when you are in distress, who is concerned over you, who is very compassionate only to the believers, who provides easiness, who is very merciful.
129) If they turn away despite this, then say: "Allah is sufficient for me. There is no deity except Him. I have relied only on Him. He is Rabb of the great throne".
